They say that silence is golden and I’m going to test it. I dont know what’s wrong with me right now, but I’ve started to have symptoms of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). I can’t concentrate much on my studies – mainly because I’m preoccupied with either

  1. What’s my next blog entry
  2. What new stuff is available on the net to download
  3. Whether I’ll get admission into my preferred university (Temple)
  4. Other stuff which usually has something to do with computers.

So Basically I’m getting nowhere with this state of mind and end up procrastinating my USMLE exams every other week. (The current date is 22nd march, but I intend to give it earlier). I blame it all on my tech hunger and computer addiction. But unfortunately I can’t help it as I’ve reached the point of no return.

After reading an article in this months Reader’s Digest, I’ve decided to try my own version of rehab. From today onwards I’m going for daily 30 min meditation and 5 hr silence periods where I’ll do nothing but study and not communicate (personally or electronically with anyone). I’ll have no other option but talk when I’m in the clinics, but the entire afternoons are gonna be pretty much silent.

Let’s see if I can stretch my limits. Am keeping my fingers crossed.
