It seems that today is just not my day. First it was the stupid web server which was giving me the problems and now Reliance broadband has become a pain in my hairy arse since morning. I woke up and tried to post an entry on my blog and woah!!! – I got a 403 error, Access denied. The server did not allow me to access the database as I was logging in from a banned IP!!! :shock:
So I dug into the details and found that the dynamic IP assigned to me was banned across the web as it was reported to be an open proxy somewhere in Aug 2006. I tried many things, DNS flushing, IP release, IP renew, etc, but to no avail. Restarting my modem did not help either as the stupid modem had a 6 hour cache (i.e. it remembers the assigned IP for 6 hrs before it searches for a new one). My calls to the customer care center were as usual greeted by some woman with a sexy voice (Her name was Seema – I wish there was video call facility in India). But in call center terminology “Brains do not come with a beautiful voice”. So I was put on hold several times over a span of 30 minutes and finally was told that they were not able to solve my problem as they did not know what to do. Sheesh!!! :mad:
I feel it is the responsibility of the ISP to check wether it’s IP are being black listed or not. But anyway I remained offline since noon and finally at 8AM I was given a new IP and here I am posting on my blog again. There have been some more tragic developments in my life since then and I dont think it is necessary to post every intricate detail of my personal life here. But I’m on the verge of breaking up with my love, because of family issues. :cry:
