Continuing on from where I left the last time about our first original composition, I have some more important updates.

I hope you saw the live version on youtube and liked it (if not, then go rant somewhere else… hehe  ). The plan for doing a proper studio recording was under the carpet for almost 3 months now and finally we made it big on last Saturday. The whole recording, synthesizing, sequencing part of the song is over (it took about 3 days) and all that remains is the mixing of the sounds which we’re gonna finish up by Wednesday  . Lemme tell you studio recording is no piece of cake. After almost 5 hours of recording time for a 5 min song, 1400 bucks lighter in the pocket and an imminent diarrhea (courtesy the stale “Paav Bhaji” that we ate during lunch today) we’re ready to release the studio version of our song in a few days to come. So watch out for this space

It was one hell of an experience playing and recording at the studio but I guess I’ll write that story on some other day. Right now we’re concentrating on creating a cover art for our band – it’d be our logo, our identity. I’ve come up with a design and just wanted a quick poll of what looks good. Any criticism’s are more than welcome -

  1. hey vishwas,
Nice try buddy. but here are some points i would like to make.(i am thinking with the prospective of a end user and not of a engineer of artist)

    1. The pic at first look seems like a Ovary or a just some modern art. Later it strike me its a section of ear.
    2. The name of the band Cochlear Tempest is funky but not readable.

  2. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll work on it today and get back to you with some improvements in a day or two. In the meanwhile send me some interesting fonts if you have any for the title of the band.

  3. Hey came through Santosh’s blog.. listened to your song from youtube.. it sounds great…but the audio quality is poor..!!
And regarding the logo.. I agree with Santosh’s comments.. also would like to add one more(hope you dont mind)
The color of the whole image looks dull..though its subdued..it will lack the needed attraction
    All the best
