Someone (Was it really Shakespeare?) said “What’s there in a name?” – Apparently too much. Ever since I’ve upgraded my blog to WordPress 2.5 and changed the blog name to “Incongruous Balderdash” (You gotta admit, it is damn cool name), there have been hoards of problems with the blog. Subscription emails are not being sent to my subscribers and I was worried over the top of my head.
After almost 40-45 posts on various forums and some sleuthing on my part, I’ve come to deduce that gmail somehow seems to send all my blog notification emails into spam. Adding my address to the contact book does not seem to help. This brings me to the conclusion that the problem is either with wordpress 2.5 OR with gmails spam filter. What’s the solution?
I’m going to temporarily revert back to the previous name of the blog (Scribble Pad) and post some entries for a while. If you are a gmail user and find this post notification in your inbox (and not your spam folder), then it means “There’s too much into a name”. Else I’ll impatiently wait for WP 2.5.1 or 2.6. That’s all I can do.. Send in your feedback
Post Edit – Apparently not. This email still ended up in my gmail spam folder. This goes to prove that there is a problem with WP 2.5 and/or subscribe2 plugin that I use for notifications. I’m reverting back to the name Incongruous Balderdash.
