My new band, dFusion performed live at Penns Landing on 16th Aug 2008. The event was sponsored by Council of Indian Organizations to celebrate India’s independence day. The performance was good with a scope for improvement. We received a lot of feedback from friends and family and are working hard to improve our playing techniques in time for the next performance at Frawley stadium in Delaware on 27th Sept.
Just a brief recollection of events that took place on that day:
We were supposed to wake up at 8 AM at Sanjay’s place in DE to have a last minute rehearsal. Lets just say we went to bed quite late in the evening and woke up at 9:30 – things got delayed and we were on our way to Philly at 12:30 PM. The email from CIO said that our time slot was from 4:00PM to 4-30PM. We reached well before that time at 1:15 PM and were told at the registration desk that we were playing in 10 minutes. True to the Indian spirit – there was utter chaos everywhere and a lot of disorganization. Our drummer, Sanjay, was in a different car and was halfway to philly at that time with some of our instruments in his car. We bargained for some more time, had a moment when we decided we don’t want to play at such an event and bargained again to have more minutes on stage. Finally we were on stage, had a blast and had to cut short of performing our master piece because of stupid time constraints.
The organizers told that we might be given another chance to perform on stage later in the day. We waited for 3 hours on that humid day just to find out that we were not performing again. A quick journey back home with a headache and a good sleep was all I needed.
Without much ranting, I give you dFusion’s performance on youtube. Click here to view.
