I’ve got my vacation coming up in 2 weeks. Sweet hard earned 3 paid weeks off work. Never thought I’d be looking forward soo much to a vacation – at least not until I realized that life is screwed up when you live in the middle of nowhere in a small university town… haha. So what are my big plans for vacation?
Go to Philadelphia and continue my research at Temple.
What! yeah, you heard it right. I’d be working even during my vacation but this time doing something that I absolutely love. Data, statistics and building my CV towards a career in GI. I thought I’d be taking a direct flight but thanks to the airlines 1 bag policy I wouldn’t be able to take my music gear along with me. Then it dawned, If I did the math correctly, even if I take a flight from Chicago to Philly, I would have to start early in the day and it would take about 8 hrs from start in Champain to reach my destination in Philly. Instead, I’m making a road trip – a full 800 miles, 12 hrs and 150 bucks. Unfortunately, a better half of the trip would be spent in the fugly mid-west plains but once I’m in Pennsylvania, it’s a beautiful last 250 miles of the journey (can’t vouch the same for the return trip). I’ll be taking pics along the way at my pit-stops and upload them on the blog. Planning for a reunion show for dFusion (my band) or a tleast jam along for 3 weeks.
